1. Create Your Account
Sign up with your email address to get started. Your password is securely hashed and stored.
2. Connect Garmin (Optional but Recommended)
Link your Garmin Connect account to enable automatic workout syncing and AI-powered plan adjustments based on your actual performance.
3. Create Your First Training Plan
Choose your sport (running or rowing), set your goals, and let our AI generate a personalized training plan tailored to your fitness level and objectives.
4. Complete Workouts & Track Progress
Execute your workouts and sync them from Garmin. The AI will analyze your performance and automatically adjust upcoming workouts to match your actual fitness level.
How AI Plan Adjustments Work
Smart-Pace uses AI to continuously adapt your training plan based on your real-world performance:
- After Each Workout: When you complete a workout (synced from Garmin), the AI analyzes your pace, heart rate, and effort.
- Intelligent Adjustments: Based on your performance, the AI adjusts the intensity, duration, or type of upcoming workouts.
- Goal-Oriented: All adjustments keep you on track toward your original goal while respecting your current fitness level.
- Continuous Learning: The more workouts you complete, the better the AI understands your fitness progression.
Note: This feature is currently in testing. Rowing adjustments are more refined than running adjustments as that's been the primary focus during development.
Garmin Connect Integration
Current Status (Alpha)
To sync your workouts, you currently need to log in with your Garmin Connect username and password directly in the app.

- Garmin OAuth Integration: Secure, official authentication flow (no password sharing)
- Apple Health Integration: Sync workouts from Apple Watch
- Manual Workout Entry: Add workouts if you don't use a fitness device

Privacy & Security
Your Data
- Account passwords are hashed using bcrypt
- Garmin passwords are NOT stored in our database
- Training data is stored securely and used only for plan generation
- No data is sold or shared with third parties

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Smart-Pace without a Garmin device?
Yes! You can create and view training plans without connecting Garmin. However, automatic workout syncing and AI adjustments require Garmin integration. Manual workout entry and Apple Health integration are coming soon.
How do I know if my plan is being adjusted?
After completing a workout synced from Garmin, check your dashboard. You'll see updated workout details for upcoming sessions if the AI made adjustments based on your performance.
What if I find a bug?
Please report it! Use the contact form to share bug reports, feedback, or feature requests. Your input helps make Smart-Pace better.
Is this free to use?
Yes, Smart-Pace is currently free during the alpha phase. Future pricing (if any) hasn't been determined yet.
Will my old plans still work after updates?
We'll do our best to maintain backward compatibility, but as an alpha product, some breaking changes may occur. We'll communicate major changes that might affect existing plans.
